Platform guide
How Libme works
A concise overview of the main areas — from your personal library to Bookland, loans, and auctions.
What is Libme?
Libme is a platform for managing books and libraries. You create libraries, catalog copies, discover other collections, track your reading, join sprints and auctions, and message other readers.
- Every registration includes a personal library.
- You can create additional libraries and invite members.
- Public libraries and books appear in Bookland.
Bookland
The social and discovery layer — not tied to a single library.
- Dashboard — summary and entry point after sign-in.
- Public catalog — books from public libraries with filters and search.
- Libraries — browse public collections.
- Reading — journal, sessions, goals, and want-to-read list.
- Sprint — group reading challenges with invites.
- Auctions — global real-time book bidding.
- Messages — direct contact around books and sprints.
- My borrowed books — books you have borrowed from others.
My libraries
Manage a specific library. URLs are under the library name.
- Books — add manually, by ISBN, from a photo, or bulk import.
- Borrowed books — lending and returns with a QR loan card.
- Auctions — start auctions from this library.
- Statistics — collection summaries.
- Settings — members, invitations, photos, and public page theme.
Book availability
Each library book can be marked with one or more availability types.
- For sale — with a price and optional auction.
- For loan — other users can request to borrow.
- For exchange — looking to swap for another book.
- Free — gift or no-cost handover.
- Private — for you only, not shown publicly.
Loans
Loans connect the book owner with a reader who borrows it.
- Request a loan from a public book or via QR loan card.
- The owner approves or declines the request.
- An active loan is tracked until return.
- You cannot delete a book or library with an active loan.
Auctions
The seller lists a book with a starting price and end time. Bidding is proxy — you set a maximum limit and the system bids automatically on your behalf.
- Proxy bidding: enter the highest amount you are willing to pay. The system bids in small steps and you usually pay less than your limit.
- Auction tokens are spent when listing an auction and on each bid. You receive them on registration, with a subscription, or by purchasing a pack.
- Winner and seller communicate via messages.
- An active auction blocks deleting the book.
Auction tokens
Tokens are an in-platform currency for participating in auctions. They are not money and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Listing an auction costs tokens (see current prices under Subscription & tokens).
- Each bid costs 1 token, regardless of the bid amount.
- Registration and purchased-pack tokens do not expire. Subscription tokens renew monthly and unused ones expire.
- As the platform operator we may change limits, prices, and token rules at our discretion.
Reading & sprints
Track personal progress and join group activity.
- Start reading from a catalog or library book.
- Log sessions and pages for statistics.
- Set an annual books-read goal.
- Create or join a reading sprint.
Location in Bookland
Country and city filter the catalog, libraries, and public sprints.
- Set location during onboarding or in your profile.
- Use GPS or manually pick country and city.
- The sidebar filter shows content from the selected region.
Profile & subscription
Manage your account, security, and plan.
- Profile — name, email, location, and avatar.
- Security — password, two-factor authentication, and passkeys.
- Subscription — plans with different limits for books, AI scans, and auctions.
- Delete account — deactivates your profile and cancels an active subscription.
